Our flagship loaf—humble, hearty, and wildly loved. Driftless Sourdough is a classic country-style white loaf made with high-quality unbleached flour and our fresh-milled whole grain sourdough starter. It’s slow-fermented for deep flavor, a tender crumb, and that signature crackly crust.
What makes it special? While the flour is light and simple, the soul of the loaf comes from our stone-milled starter—fed daily with freshly ground wheat berries.
This is sourdough the way it used to be: no shortcuts, no yeast packets, just flour, water, salt, time, and love.
Ingredients:
Unbleached white flour (bread + AP), water, sea salt, fresh-milled wheat starter
Best enjoyed:
• Toasted with butter (or jam)
• As sandwich bread or rustic grilled cheese
• With soups, stews, or runny eggs
• Or torn by hand and dipped in olive oil
